Bridging Cultures and Values: Showcasing Our Minority Languages and Diversity Project at eTwinning Weimar
At the eTwinning Conference “Youth Mobility and Partnerships for European Values” in Weimar, Germany (07–10 May 2025), we proudly promoted our project, highlighting its central message: minority languages are bridges of identity, culture, and shared European heritage. We demonstrated how cross-border teamwork empowers students to become active citizens and guardians of linguistic diversity. Through student-created materials, visuals, and real-life testimonials, we illustrated how international collaboration can bring European values such as inclusion, solidarity, and democracy into everyday learning. The audience was particularly inspired by our learners’ creativity and civic engagement, visible in every stage of the project. I also had the honour of leading a workshop, where I presented the structure, outcomes, and pedagogical value of our international projects, encouraging open dialogue and idea exchange. We emphasized the role of youth mobility in building empathy, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable partnerships across schools. The structure of our project, from group formation to joint outcomes, was shared as a model of meaningful, student-led cooperation. We also showed how our interdisciplinary approach connects multiple subjects and fosters both soft skills and key competences. In workshops and panels, we contributed to discussions on how language education can support democratic participation and cultural resilience. Our presentation sparked new ideas and potential partnerships for future collaboration. This experience reinforced our belief in inclusive, participatory education as a driving force for a more connected and value-based Europe.
